AI-Powered Cybersecurity Startup from MIPT Students Trains Employees Against Threats

Students at MIPT have developed Avareange, an AI-based adaptive training platform designed to prepare employees for cybersecurity threats and social engineering attacks. The system learns from each user’s behavior and analyzes risks in real time, promising up to five times greater efficiency compared to traditional training methods.

Targeting a Wide Range of Clients

According to its developers, deploying the platform increases the effectiveness of countering cyber threats fivefold by reducing human error. The solution is aimed at a broad audience, from government agencies and large corporations to educational institutions and cybersecurity service providers.

As a domestic cybersecurity product, Avareange has the potential to strengthen defenses across companies and government structures. If widely adopted in the public sector, the platform could significantly reduce the success rate of social engineering attacks. Its export potential is also considerable, with target markets in BRICS countries, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East—regions where the technology could lower cyber risks and boost cybersecurity talent.

Expanding to International Markets

The startup is actively seeking partnerships in BRICS, CELAC, ASEAN, and MENA countries, with requests for international certification and product localization already underway. Avareange has matured into a fully functional MVP, having passed pilot tests in IT firms, industrial enterprises, and government agencies. The team now seeks $1–2 million in seed investment to launch Pulse 2.0 and expand internationally.

The platform’s core functions include personalized training powered by ML and LangChain, as well as an intelligent assistant based on the GigaChat neural network. This assistant monitors communications in real time and provides on-the-fly recommendations.

The driving force behind our project was the realization that even with advanced technical defenses, people remain the weakest link in cybersecurity. Statistics show that over 90% of successful attacks involve social engineering. This pushed us to create a product that doesn’t just train employees but adapts to each user and continuously analyzes risks in real time

Threat dynamics, employee readiness, and resilience against phishing are visualized via the Pulse Dashboard analytics panel. Key advantages include rapid deployment, adaptability to industry-specific requirements, and compatibility with existing security systems.

Enterprise Cyber Defense Ecosystem

Avareange builds on the trajectory of Russian cybersecurity solutions. In 2021, Rostelecom-Solar launched Solar MSS, a managed security service aimed at regional governments, banks, retail, energy, transport, logistics, education, and healthcare organizations. Another product, Solar CyberMir, serves as a cyber range for IT and security staff training.

Other platforms are also evolving. Standoff 365, introduced in 2016, provides a cyber range and Bug Bounty programs, recreating industrial, transport, energy, and financial processes for realistic training. By late 2021, more than 3,400 security researchers from various countries had registered on the platform.

Avareange continues this trend with an innovative adaptive architecture that integrates AI and analytics, setting it apart from conventional training platforms.

Betting on Adaptability and LangChain

Avareange represents an important step forward for Russia’s cybersecurity industry. It offers a fundamentally different approach—beyond training to include adaptiveness, behavioral analysis, market flexibility, rapid integration, and export potential.

Future plans include localization and certification to secure international contracts, especially in emerging markets. The Pulse 2.0 module and advanced analytics are expected to be key growth drivers. Readiness for external audits and expert reviews will further attract major clients, from government agencies to global corporations. Competition with foreign products is possible, but adaptability and the integration of LangChain could provide a critical edge.
