Russia’s Ministry of Industry Integrates AI into National Information Services
AI technologies now power the country’s Product Catalog and Support‑Measures Navigator, helping modernize industrial services and streamline decision‑making

AI for Smarter Industrial Services
Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade is rapidly integrating artificial intelligence into its internal operations and the sectors it oversees. One of the flagship implementations is the AI‑enhanced Product Catalog service, which now features an innovative tagging system capable of matching product analogues by type, technical specifications, name, and text description.
Intelligent‑search technologies are also embedded in the chatbot of the State Industrial Information System (GIISP) and in the Support‑Measures Navigator — a digital guide that helps businesses identify government programs relevant to their needs.
Next Steps: Decision‑Support Intelligence
The ministry plans to expand AI use for automating electronic document management and improving the processing of state‑support requests. According to the ministry, an intelligent decision‑support system will soon be implemented within GIISP. It will be able to analyze incoming applications for government support, evaluate supporting documents, and generate recommendations on whether specific requests should receive funding.
A Broader Government Shift Toward AI
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko noted that AI is increasingly used inside the federal government — for preparing protocols, marking documents, and assisting administrative teams. This shift reflects a broader national strategy to accelerate bureaucracy, reduce processing time, and increase transparency in state operations.
For businesses and industrial organizations, the ministry’s AI modernization means faster access to information, more accurate search results, and a more efficient pathway to state support.
