130,000 Artworks, One Platform: Russia’s Biggest Digital Gallery Is Redefining Creative Ecosystems

In just 100 days, Russia’s newest digital art platform, Artists / Художники, has done something wild: it became the largest digital gallery in the country — with a staggering 130,000 artworks uploaded by creators from 754 cities.

Powered by a blend of tech infrastructure and cultural ambition (with support from the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives), the platform is more than a portfolio hub. It's a rights-protecting, gallery-connecting, grant-distributing, contest-hosting creative powerhouse. Whether you're slinging oils, pixels, or mixed media, Artists wants your work — and wants to make sure you get credit for it.

One-click portfolios? Check. Blockchain-style copyright protection? In progress — a third of all works are already rights-registered. Built-in tools for applying to exhibitions, lectures, jobs, grants, and digital art battles? All baked in. (One such creative showdown, aptly titled “Create in Russia,” has already attracted over 2,300 entries.)

The platform is teaming up with Russia’s Union of Artists and the Tavrida art cluster, and it's not stopping at the border — partnerships with art communities across the CIS are in motion.

“We’re seeing huge demand from artists in every region,” says platform lead Valeria Brusnikina. The message is loud and clear: registration is open, and the digital renaissance is already underway. All that’s missing? You.
