As of mid-January, Russia’s national messaging app MAX has reached 85 million registered users, the platform’s press service said.

Around 55 million people use the app every day. Since launch, users have sent more than 18 billion messages, made over 2.5 billion calls, recorded 200 million short video clips, and shared more than 1 billion stickers.

More Than Just a Messenger

MAX has long moved beyond the role of a conventional messaging app. It has evolved into a full-scale digital services platform and one of the key tools for business development. Companies are integrating their services into MAX through mini-apps and chatbots.

Users have access to audio and video calls, chats, voice messages, large file transfers, and money transfers. Information channels are currently operating in test mode. Bloggers, companies, and government agencies have launched more than 140,000 public channels on MAX, with a combined audience exceeding 54 million subscribers.

MAX can also be used to verify age when purchasing certain goods. More than 40,000 stores have already adopted the platform’s Digital ID technology.
