A Russian AI-Enabled Drilling Rig Outperforms Foreign Competitors
A new Russian drilling rig equipped with AI proved 10 percent more efficient than imported systems after a week of operation in harsh geological and climatic conditions.

Rosatom has tested its new domestically produced drilling rig, the ZBO S15E, under extreme conditions, the state corporation’s press service reported.
According to Vladislav Chashchin, Director of Development at RUSBURMASH, the equipment was operated for a full week at the Vershinnoye uranium deposit in Buryatia, where temperatures reached –25 °C.
Simpler, More Comfortable, and Safer
One of the key advantages of the new Russian system is its Smart Drill technology. The equipment automatically produces reports, monitors its own condition, and notifies operators in advance when maintenance is needed.
The built‑in artificial intelligence optimizes workflows through precise quality control and faster decision‑making. As a result, the work becomes simpler, more comfortable, and safer.
