AI Helps Russian Doctors Predict Reproductive Health Outcomes

Artificial intelligence is accelerating the diagnosis of male infertility, offering faster and more accurate assessments than traditional methods.

Russian physicians have begun using artificial intelligence to diagnose and forecast male infertility, according to Dmitry Zelenin, a Moscow-based urologist and doctor of medical sciences.

He notes that environmental stressors increasingly undermine male fertility, making early detection crucial. Modern digital tools — particularly AI — are now helping specialists identify abnormalities before they progress.

'The programs already exist. They are still undergoing trials and being compared with conventional diagnostic methods, but the speed of diagnosis is increasing,' Zelenin said.

He adds that new predictive models could further strengthen early‑diagnosis efforts. These systems would account for factors such as weight, hormone levels, age, and other health indicators to forecast changes in a patient’s reproductive state.
