AI in Russian Schools: Nearly Every Student in One Region Uses It

Artificial intelligence has become a daily classroom tool for teachers and students across Russia, with one region reporting nearly universal adoption.
Artificial intelligence is no longer just an experiment in Russian education—it is becoming the norm. At a recent teachers’ forum near Moscow, officials and tech leaders described how AI tools are reshaping both teaching and learning.
According to Herman Gref, CEO of Sberbank, about 30 percent of teachers and 80 percent of students in Russia already use neural networks in their schoolwork. In the Moscow region, Gref added, nearly every student has access to AI-powered technologies.
The rapid spread of AI in Russia’s education system signals more than just technological adoption—it shows how deeply AI is embedding itself into the everyday lives of the next generation.
