AI Is Helping Dentists Treat Teeth in Russia
Digital technologies not only improve diagnostic accuracy but also make dental treatment more comfortable for patients.
Dentists in Orenburg Oblast are using artificial intelligence in digital jaw diagnostics. The advanced technology was described in comments to TASS by Larisa Boyarskaya, the region’s deputy head of government for social policy.
According to the vice governor, the new system can assess the condition of teeth and bone tissue and detect diseases at the earliest stages. This is made possible by analyzing both 2D and 3D X-ray images.
Precision and Comfort
The AI embedded in professional dental systems identifies even the smallest deviations from normal anatomy that may go unnoticed by the human eye.
Another recent innovation is computer-assisted anesthesia, introduced in Orenburg Oblast in 2025. The method minimizes patient discomfort by precisely calculating the required dose of anesthetic, reducing the overall strain on the body.
