AI-Powered Baggage Screening Devices Arrive at Russian Bus Stations
A new generation of intelligent screening systems is being deployed at Russian bus stations, capable of analyzing luggage contents in two projections and identifying potentially dangerous items automatically
At the Lipetsk bus station, a new introscope equipped with an artificial intelligence system has been installed, the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities reported.
The device stands out for its ability to recognize the contents of luggage in two projections. Its internal memory contains hundreds of images of potentially dangerous items and their components. When real objects match virtual ones, the system automatically displays a highlighted marker on the screen.
A Rare Sight
The intelligent scanner has already proven effective by preventing several knives and a brass knuckle from being brought into the bus terminal. Similar systems operate at airports in St. Petersburg and Khanty-Mansiysk, but they remain uncommon at bus stations.
Earlier, at the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov noted that the region had already implemented more than 30 AI-based projects, with another 20 planned for deployment.
