AI System to Identify Locations for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations in Russia
Data on cities, traffic patterns, and user behavior will help determine where new EV charging stations should be installed.

Yandex Electro, a service developed by Yandex, will help partners place charging stations in areas with consistent demand and improve the financial performance of EV charging networks. Operators such as Biset and Electro.Cars have already joined the partnership. Together they manage more than 1,000 public charging stations for electric vehicles and plan to install several thousand additional units.
Demand for EV charging will be forecast using geoanalytics and Yandex technologies based on artificial intelligence. A specialized machine-learning model will analyze anonymized data on cities, traffic flows, and user behavior to identify specific locations for building new charging stations.
Integration Into Digital Services
Yandex Electro will also integrate partner charging stations into its digital ecosystem. Drivers will be able to locate and pay for charging through Yandex Maps, Yandex Fuel, and the Yandex Pro mobile app.
Russia continues to expand its electric vehicle infrastructure. Recently, the first municipal charging hub opened at the park-and-ride facility near the Volokolamskaya metro station in Moscow. The hub uses dynamic power balancing among connected electric vehicles. Eighteen charging stations with capacities of up to 240 kW support all major connector types and can supply power to up to 500 vehicles per day. Another fast-charging hub, Lefortovsky, combines 10 stations capable of serving up to 20 vehicles simultaneously.
