AI to Cut Downtime in Russia’s Dairy Industry by 50%

Russia is betting on artificial intelligence to boost efficiency in its dairy sector, with experts predicting a 30–50% reduction in unplanned processing downtime.
The integration of AI into dairy production could slash unplanned downtime during raw material processing by 30–50%, according to Yakub Zakriev, CEO of Health & Nutrition, speaking to RIA Novosti.
Predictive analytics for processing equipment is designed to prevent breakdowns and reduce defects on bottling and packaging lines. Video analytics monitors the acceptance of raw materials, minimizing safety violations and fraudulent activity. Meanwhile, smart vision systems in packaging plants automatically detect and remove defective products.
Zakriev emphasized that growing investment in digital transformation is creating favorable conditions for AI adoption in agriculture. A unified digital platform for the agro-industrial sector is expected to emerge, consolidating data from all market participants.
