AI Will Help Russian Doctors Analyze Heart Health
Artificial intelligence is now able to detect abnormalities in coronary imaging. A new Russian-developed system is set to accelerate diagnosis and improve patient outcomes.

New AI Model for Cardiac Imaging
Sber Health Industry and the Almazov National Medical Research Center have introduced a new AI model called “Heart.” The system analyzes coronary angiography images, identifying vessel narrowing, blockages, and structural abnormalities. It then calculates the SYNTAX Score—a global metric used to assess the severity of coronary artery disease.
Clinical Impact
The AI model delivers an accuracy rate of 94.74%. Based on processed data, cardiologists can determine whether surgical intervention is necessary or if less invasive treatment is sufficient. Automating the assessment significantly reduces diagnostic time and decreases the risk of human measurement variability.
