ALD Pro and Kaspersky Security Center Linux Confirm Interoperability

This marks another step in the shift from developing standalone import-independent products to building homegrown cybersecurity ecosystems.

Russian developers are releasing a broad range of software designed to replace foreign alternatives. But developing standalone products is no longer enough. Different solutions need to work together, complementing one another.

Advancing Import Substitution

Astra Group and Kaspersky Lab have confirmed interoperability between two of their products: the ALD Pro directory service and the Kaspersky Security Center Linux security management platform. The first provides centralized management of user, computer and service accounts, as well as automated configuration of domain-joined workstations to meet information security requirements. The second enables organizations to remotely deploy Kaspersky Lab security tools on corporate devices and manage security policies.

This is particularly important for organizations migrating from Windows to Linux. Until recently, administrators had to configure connections between security tools and the domain infrastructure manually. That added time to deployment and raised the risk of configuration errors.

Addressing a Fundamental Challenge

The new integration eliminates this problem. The security management platform connects directly to the ALD Pro directory service, retrieves information about the domain and directory objects, and uses the domain infrastructure to administer the corporate environment. According to the developers, organizations using ALD Pro as their directory service will now find it much easier to configure their cybersecurity perimeter.

“Effective infrastructure protection depends on security management tools working in tandem with domain services. Compatibility between Kaspersky Security Center Linux and ALD Pro gives organizations confidence that import substitution can deliver effective solutions where integrated management of IT and information security infrastructure is essential. Administrators can continue managing security policies centrally through a familiar domain structure, now one that fully aligns with the principles of technological sovereignty,” said Gulnaz Rakhimova, product manager for Kaspersky Security Center Linux.

Compatibility between these two key platforms is particularly important for large enterprises and organizations operating critical information infrastructure. They need Russian-developed tools to centrally manage workstations and configure their security systems flexibly. Independence from foreign suppliers can significantly improve the reliability of digital services and strengthen their security.

A Key Market Demand

In recent years, Astra Group has worked systematically to improve the compatibility of its products with other Russian IT solutions. In 2023, for example, the company completed compatibility testing between the Astra Linux operating system and Security Vision, an information security process automation platform developed by Intelligent Security.

In 2025, Astra Group and UserGate confirmed interoperability between the ALD Pro directory service and UserGate NGFW, a next-generation firewall. The integration marked another step toward building an ecosystem around an account management tool.

This year, Astra Group and Confident Group confirmed compatibility between the Astra Linux operating system and Dallas Lock Linux, an information security system. The integrated products demonstrated stable operation and the ability to be used in secure information systems.

Over the past three years, Russian companies have gradually shifted from developing separate products to replace foreign software toward building full-fledged ecosystems. Experts expect the number of such integrations to grow in the coming years. Customers are looking for products that work together and help them build IT infrastructure capable of supporting a wide range of operational needs.

In import substitution projects, the ALD Pro directory service is more than just a replacement for Active Directory. It is a reliable foundation for building secure IT infrastructure. Compatibility with Kaspersky Security Center Linux further expands the directory service’s capabilities, enabling centralized management of all key aspects of security, from user accounts to endpoint protection policies
