Artificial Intelligence Becomes Co-Creator of a Performance at the Theatre of Nations for the First Time
The Theatre of Nations marked the start of its new season with an experimental performance, “Neurotheater: Rehearsal for the Future,” in which a neural network took an equal role alongside the actors in creating what unfolded on stage.

Project curator and director Yuri Kvyatkovsky said the Neurotheater laboratory will teach playwrights, artists and set designers how to work with neural networks under the guidance of artificial intelligence experts. The ultimate goal is to turn the technology from a tool into a full-fledged participant in a production, a co-author or even one of its characters.
Earlier, Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Russian president’s special representative for international cultural cooperation, called the Theatre of Nations one of the important centers of international cooperation.
