Artificial Intelligence in Russia Helps Organize Concerts and Theater Productions
Technology is creating sets, scripts, and even writing songs.

Artificial intelligence is being used increasingly across Russia’s cultural sector. Robots are taking on the role of conductors, neural networks are generating scripts, animation, and music for films, and AI systems are designing stage sets for theater productions, among many other applications.
Vladivostok is no exception. There, AI was used in the creation of a Christmas theatrical production titled An Amazing Christmas Story in the Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors. The creators sought to combine modern technology, 20th-century traditions, and a Gospel narrative.
Digital Footage, Animation, and a Musical Score
About 250 performers will take part in the production. Yana Zhukova, head of the Kontakt children’s theater studio, explained how artificial intelligence is contributing to the organization of the show.
