Artificial Intelligence Will Help Russian Cows Produce More Milk

Using smart cameras and continuous analytics, a new high-tech livestock complex near Moscow aims to improve cattle health, reduce disease risks, and significantly boost milk yields

Smart Monitoring for Better Productivity

A new high-tech livestock complex is being launched at the Povadino breeding farm in the Domodedovo district of the Moscow region. Two barns designed to house a total of 1,200 animals will be equipped with smart cameras. The automated platform will analyze each cow’s productivity around the clock, detect behavioral or health deviations, and flag any issues related to feeding or living conditions.

Igor Sergeyenko, CEO of Povadino Breeding Farm, expressed confidence that the technology will reduce the risk of livestock diseases and increase milk production volumes.

Control, Insights, and Recommendations

The system will also monitor the performance of machine-milking operators. Camera-based analytics will make it possible to remotely evaluate whether staff correctly handle automatic milking equipment and adjust workflows in real time.

The CEO added that the platform can offer recommendations for improving overall farm efficiency.
