Buryatia Begins Producing Drones for Monitoring Uranium Mines
The unmanned aircraft are specifically designed to operate in the extreme conditions of the Far North.
A new production facility for unmanned aerial systems has opened in Ulan-Ude, where drones will be manufactured for monitoring uranium mining operations in Russia's Far North.
The drones will be able to transmit precise coordinates of monitored assets while capturing thermal imaging data, allowing operators to quickly detect potential equipment failures.
The aircraft have also been engineered to withstand extremely harsh environmental conditions. They can operate in temperatures ranging from –60°C to +40°C and at altitudes of up to 900 meters. The equipment was developed for a uranium mining enterprise located in the Bauntovsky Evenki District in the northern part of the Republic of Buryatia.
