At a grain elevator in the Kolyshley District of Russia’s Penza Region, a computer vision system now monitors the grain intake process. The project was jointly implemented by Beeline AI and the Krasnaya Gorka agricultural enterprise.

The technology was introduced at the height of the harvest season. The automated system monitors the entire process, from a truck entering the elevator grounds to the final weighing the empty truck on departure. Its introduction has eliminated several tasks that previously had to be performed manually.

The company’s IT infrastructure contains detailed procedures for how the facility is supposed to operate. If a violation occurs, the system immediately alerts the employees responsible.

“With 100 trucks arriving each day, even occasional cases of incomplete unloading can lead to significant losses over the course of a season. If the system helps save just one metric ton of grain per day, that amounts to 300,000 rubles [about $3,600 – ed. note] over 30 days of operation and more than 1 million rubles [about $12,000 – ed. note] over a season. AI also helps employees manage their workload: the system handles continuous monitoring, while people step in when a situation requires their judgment,” said Konstantin Romanov, Beeline’s director of AI and digital products.
