Cossack Traditions and Culture to Be Presented in VR Museums Across Russia
Virtual reality technologies are becoming a powerful tool for preserving and popularizing Cossack heritage across Russia.

A Nationwide VR Initiative
In Russia, five virtual museums dedicated to the traditions and culture of the Cossacks are set to open. The announcement was made by the All‑Russian Cossack Society. The VR museums will be launched at universities in Novocherkassk, Lugansk, Moscow, Krasnodar, Stavropol, and Ulan‑Ude. The project, titled “Cossacks in VR: From Past to Future,” is financed by the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
From Archival Materials to VR360
Exhibitions will be created using materials from the Central Museum of Russian Cossacks. Specialists will film the collections and produce VR360 videos that will be used in universities, cadet corps, and public events.
Supporting Continuous Cultural Education
According to the All‑Russian Cossack Society, modern digital tools make it possible to build systems of continuous cultural education, helping raise younger generations with patriotism, civic responsibility, and respect for Russia’s Cossack heritage.
