A fully import-substituted software product designed to automate drilling operations has been successfully tested at oil and gas fields in Russia’s Yamal region. The system, known as Tsifrovaya Burovaya (Digital Drilling), was developed by the Tyumen-based company Kenera-Soft. The project is intended to make mineral extraction more efficient and easier to manage.

Foundation for Future Robotics

A team of engineers and software developers worked on Tsifrovaya Burovaya for two years. The platform is a comprehensive software solution that collects and analyzes data from drilling equipment in real time, optimizes operating modes, and minimizes the impact of the human factor. Tsifrovaya Burovaya is positioned as the foundation for the future full-scale robotization of drilling operations.

“In the long term, the company’s goal is not only to automate but also to robotize these processes. We plan to significantly expand our team, because this is our core development priority,” said Kenera-Soft head Sergei Pomeshkin.

A New Technological Revolution

The platform was developed with the specific conditions of Russian oil and gas fields and logistics in mind. The product has already attracted interest from major energy companies seeking to strengthen their technological independence.

As Tyumen Region deputy governor Andrei Panteleev noted, local industry is increasingly becoming part of a new technological revolution in Russia. A growing number of enterprises are developing their own software products and introducing artificial intelligence into production processes.
