Digitizing Agricultural Knowledge for Farmers

Rosselkhozbank has expanded its Svoe Fermerstvo (Own Farming) platform with AgroWiki, a comprehensive digital knowledge base designed around the practical needs of farmers.

Today, successful farm owners and agricultural business managers must continuously learn and adopt proven practices from their peers. Agriculture is not only growing rapidly but also evolving just as quickly. That is especially important as producers adopt increasingly sophisticated digital technologies.

The rapid growth of Russia's largest agricultural holdings has been driven in part by their access to modern knowledge and expertise. Large-scale operations and stronger financial resources enable them to hire well-trained professionals who understand the industry, adapt quickly to new developments, and efficiently implement emerging technologies, including digital solutions.

Smaller farms, many of which operate as family businesses, require a different kind of support. They need practical resources that help them learn and apply effective farming practices.

Agriculture Goes Digital

The Svoe Fermerstvo project has now been operating for six years. In 2020, Rosselkhozbank launched the ecosystem to support the digital transformation of agriculture, simplify the adoption of new technologies, and make it easier for producers both to recruit specialists and find employment opportunities.

The platform now includes more than 40 services, including recruitment tools, housing services, intelligent seed selection, and tele-veterinary support. Product sales are supported through the Svoe Rodnoe (Our Local Products) marketplace.

The ecosystem also features a B2B marketplace that streamlines procurement. Thousands of Russian manufacturers and suppliers have listed more than seven million product offers on the platform. Farmers can search for, compare, and order agricultural products in just a few clicks using filters for categories, specifications, and delivery regions. Available products include seeds, fertilizers, crop protection products, agricultural machinery, spare parts and components, agricultural chemicals, and animal feed. The ecosystem also incorporates digital tools that allow agricultural producers to automate routine operations and conserve resources without incurring additional costs.

New AgroWiki

By 2025, the Svoe Fermerstvo platform had grown to more than 15 million users. In July 2026, it introduced a new AgroWiki section that functions as a comprehensive knowledge base serving both large agricultural enterprises and smaller farms.

The resource includes reference guides covering crop pests, plant diseases, and weeds, information on the active ingredients used in crop protection products, livestock breed data, along with practical articles and operational checklists. Importantly, all materials are prepared exclusively by industry professionals, including the bank's experts and experienced agricultural practitioners.

One of AgroWiki's key advantages is its integration with the platform's other services. After finding the information they need, farmers can remain within the Svoe Fermerstvo ecosystem and immediately move to operational tools, including product selection and order placement. In this way, Rosselkhozbank continues to evolve the platform into a comprehensive digital workspace for agricultural producers.

The AgroWiki knowledge base is set to be updated continuously to reflect new information, legislative changes, seasonal conditions, and user demand. Ecosystem users already have access to informational services that include online meetings and live discussions with scientists and experts from leading agricultural research organizations. Practical tools available to farmers will continue expanding in parallel.

Technical Modernization of Agriculture

As a result, Russia's IT industry is gaining a new market for comprehensive agricultural platforms that combine marketplace services with operational tools supporting commercial transactions across the agricultural sector.

Over time, AgroWiki is expected to evolve from a digital knowledge base into an electronic farming assistant. That transition will be supported by personalized services tailored to individual farms, including intelligent information retrieval, region-specific crop recommendations, customized agricultural chemistry selection, analysis of plant and livestock disease data, and integration with farms' production management systems.

Countrymen themselves are also contributing to the development of digital agriculture. In Buryatia, farmer Ilya Krasnopeev has created a digital platform simply called "Farmer." The platform is designed to support business development, knowledge sharing, investment attraction, procurement, and the sale of finished agricultural products.

That growing digital competition benefits the agricultural sector as a whole. Beginning farmers gain access to the expertise of experienced producers, strengthening the economics of smaller farms. AgTech-driven digitalization supports greater cooperation, accelerates the technical modernization of farming operations, encourages the adoption of new technologies, and stimulates the development of new engineering solutions for agriculture.

During a single growing season, farmers must make dozens of critical decisions. Modern digital services developed specifically for agriculture help automate most operational processes. As a result, crop yields increase, logistics improve, and farms become more financially efficient, ultimately supplying our region's residents with a broader range of high-quality food products. The new digital tools offered by Rosselkhozbank provide a complete framework for the comprehensive digital transformation of agricultural enterprises
