GenAI Opens New Horizons for Russia’s Oil and Gas Industry
Generative AI is emerging as a strategic priority in Russia’s resource sector, promising to make extraction processes safer, cheaper, and more efficient.
Sberbank and the organizers of the TNF Industrial and Energy Forum have presented a study titled “A Change of Business Paradigm or Just Another Technology?” The analysis found that while AI adoption in Russia’s oil industry is still localized, strategic deployment of generative AI could ensure the sector’s long-term growth.
The study highlighted the use of Sber’s evolving GigaChat model and its collaboration with leading players in Russia’s fuel industry. According to the authors, specialized solutions for the domestic market can only be developed on the basis of a unified digital platform built within the country.
