At the industrial site of the Dalgorsky Mining and Processing Plant in Primorye, workers are completing installation of new 80-ton digital truck scales. The equipment has been placed at the facility’s cargo transportation and storage unit and will weigh incoming raw materials, including sulfur, coal, and other bulk cargo. Representatives of the strategic enterprise in Primorye confirmed the development to IT Russia.

Convert Load Into Digital Signals

The weighing platform is 18 meters long, allowing it to handle heavy-duty trucks of any configuration. The main steel structures have already been assembled, and specialists are now installing load cells – sensitive components that convert mechanical force into digital signals for the electronic control system.

According to Mikhail Mironenko, head of the plant’s instrumentation and automation service, the new system replaces scales that had been operating since the 1980s.

“The new scales are first and foremost about accuracy and reliability. In today’s technology environment, mechanical assemblies are giving way to electronic systems. We also plan to install an automation package that will integrate the scales into the corporate accounting system. Data from each weighing will be transmitted to 1C [enterprise resource planning system – editorial note] and the electronic document management system. At the initial stage, an operator will remain on duty, but eventually the process will become fully automated,” Mironenko said.

Precise Cargo Tracking

The company expects to complete installation and launch the new scales in the near future. The system will enable more accurate cargo tracking, increase operational transparency, and mark another step in the gradual modernization of Dalgorsky GOK’s production facilities.

This is not the company’s first deployment of modern weighing systems. A decade ago, 100-ton Nimbus 4,5-9-100 truck scales were installed near the ore blending warehouse at the mine site. The equipment operates autonomously and weighs extracted rock. Data from the scales is transmitted via Wi-Fi directly to the mine’s control center, allowing managers to track production volumes and monitor vehicle loading in real time.

Earlier, we reported that a new weight control inspector capable of detecting violations even through concealment measures began operating in Primorye. These are modern weigh control checkpoints.
