In Russia, a Ventilation Equipment Factory Deploys a Robot to Count Parts

A Moscow manufacturer has introduced an android that automates the counting and stacking of components, freeing workers from monotonous tasks and speeding up production.

At a Moscow facility producing ventilation systems, engineers have developed a robot that takes over the job of counting and stacking metal blanks. Once the machine forms neat stacks, they move along the conveyor belt to the next stage, allowing human workers to focus on more complex operations, production director Oleg Sautin told the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

Until recently, employees had to manually count the required number of parts—a process that slowed production. Now, the repetitive task has been assigned to an android. The company has also upgraded its conveyor lines, streamlining the entire production cycle.

Russia's industrial sector is undergoing rapid robotization. Mechanical assistants are already entrusted with welding, sorting goods, cutting meat, and many other tasks.

One of the most striking examples of industrial automation is in car manufacturing. At the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, robots perform precision cutting of metal blanks, assemble vehicle body components, apply primer coatings, and paint parts—delivering exceptional accuracy and efficiency.
