In Russia, production of servers based on fifth-generation processors has been launched

Russia has launched production of its first domestically built fifth‑generation server platform, a milestone in the country’s push toward technological independence and high‑performance computing

A New Chapter in Domestic Server Manufacturing

On the production site of the Azimut plant in the Kaluga region, Russian engineers have begun manufacturing the MLT‑S 2U server built on fifth‑generation processors. It is the first domestically produced server of this class approved for corporate IT infrastructures. The project is led by Multillect, a joint venture between the Azimut company (part of the Rostec state corporation) and the T1 IT holding. The MLT‑S is a general‑purpose 2U rack‑mount server—two rack units high—designed for mission‑critical workloads, data processing and storage, and AI‑driven operations.

Performance Validated Through Testing

Benchmarking confirmed the system’s stated performance profile. The server’s scalable architecture allows organizations to match compute loads to specific tasks, while its cooling subsystem demonstrated high efficiency. The hardware also features robust fault tolerance with hot‑swap support for fans, hard drives, and power modules.

Approved for Government Infrastructure

The MLT‑S has already been added to the Unified Register of Russian Radio‑Electronic Products maintained by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Following wider deployment, the Kaluga‑built platform is expected to serve as a core element of IT infrastructure across state‑owned companies. By launching production of high‑end domestic servers, Russia strengthens its technological sovereignty: organizations gain equipment designed and manufactured entirely within the country—hardware free from import dependencies and suitable for secure, in‑country data processing.

Russia’s tech sector signals that it is ready to compete globally in advanced computing, offering dependable, modern tools for both enterprise and government environments.
