Legat Patrol: Russia’s Robotic Platform for Environmental Monitoring

Moscow-based company Dronshub Group, a resident of the city’s innovation cluster, has unveiled the autonomous robotic platform Legat Patrol, designed to monitor air quality at industrial facilities. The solution not only improves workplace safety but also contributes to better environmental conditions in surrounding regions.

Autonomy, Mobility, Integration

The device can operate for up to eight hours on a single charge. It can travel either along a pre-set route or under manual operator control. With a load capacity of 150 kilograms, full-wheel drive, and water-resistant protection, the platform is built to work in virtually any weather conditions.

Legat Patrol is integrated with a cloud-based monitoring system, enabling real-time video streams, telemetry, and sensor data collection. This ensures enterprises can respond quickly to accidents or pollution events.

According to the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship, such technologies simplify environmental monitoring at industrial sites while reducing ecological risks.

Expanding Capabilities

Beyond air quality monitoring, the platform can also be deployed for site security and equipment inspections. For instance, it is capable of performing remote chemical reconnaissance.

The platform is a multifunctional solution for industrial safety and automation, developed entirely in Russia. In addition to air quality monitoring, it can be used for patrolling sites, securing perimeters, and inspecting industrial equipment

Pilot projects are under discussion with Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and environmental regulator Rosprirodnadzor, along with potential partnerships with large corporations. Internationally, the solution may appeal to industrialized nations seeking autonomous monitoring systems.

The rollout of robotic solutions is already underway in Russia. At Novolipetsk Steel, for example, Skolkovo-based company Virsine Innovations has deployed an autonomous control system for grab cranes, improving both efficiency and worker safety. Elsewhere, Moscow Region’s Ecological Monitoring Agency uses mobile labs to analyze air quality.

Similar initiatives exist in Europe and the U.S., but Legat Patrol stands out for its versatility and cloud-powered analytics.

Clean Air Today and Tomorrow

In the near term, developers plan to launch pilot projects at major industrial facilities, with AI analytics to be added later for predicting accidents and optimizing monitoring strategies. In the long run, the platform could extend beyond factory sites to urban environments, monitoring air quality in residential areas and transport hubs.

Legat Patrol is a prime example of how robotics, environmental protection, and industrial safety can come together. If supported by both government and business, the project could not only strengthen Russia’s innovation leadership but also make a real contribution to improving the nation’s ecological landscape.
