Meetings in Tatarstan Move to Russia’s MAX Messenger
The Republic of Tatarstan has begun using Russia’s national messenger, MAX, as a secure platform for large-scale interagency video meetings, marking a significant milestone in the country’s effort to build independent digital communication tools

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan is among the first government bodies to adopt the national MAX messenger for official video conferences.
Specialists from various ministries, agencies, and municipalities joined an online meeting dedicated to the regional plan of events under the Decade of Childhood initiative. Participants highlighted the platform’s stable and high‑quality video connection.
The group video conferencing feature—allowing unlimited participants and no time restrictions—has been available in MAX since July 2025.
Communication between teachers and parents is also shifting to MAX. Tatarstan is one of six pilot regions transitioning school chat systems into the national messenger.
Beyond messaging, the MAX platform integrates public services and supports digital document management. Residents of Tatarstan already have access to features of the ‘Uslugi RT’ platform within the MAX app.
Users of MAX also benefit from a digital assistant created by Russian Post. The bot helps prepare mail or parcel shipments, book appointments at post offices, call a courier, or cancel a previously scheduled time slot.
