Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin welcomed participants and guests of the international forum “Kazan Digital Week,” which opened in Kazan on September 17. In his address, he emphasized the forum’s role in advancing Russia’s national goals for digital transformation and strengthening the country’s technological sovereignty.

Mishustin noted that “Kazan Digital Week” has become one of the largest platforms for dialogue between developers, the state, and businesses. The forum serves as an important source of ideas for deploying modern technologies and artificial intelligence in key sectors of the economy, improving intellectual property legislation, and enhancing cybersecurity.

He also highlighted specific government measures in this area. At the president’s request, Russia has launched a new national project, “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State,” which continues to provide comprehensive support for the IT sector.

Special attention is being given to training highly qualified personnel. As an example, Mishustin pointed to the federal project “Code of the Future,” which allows schoolchildren and college students to study modern programming languages, robotics, and artificial intelligence free of charge. More than 60,000 students will enroll in these courses in the current academic year.

In conclusion, the prime minister wished forum participants a productive event.

“Achieving technological sovereignty is, without a doubt, our shared task. To accomplish it, coordinated action is needed from the government, business, and, of course, the IT community,” Mishustin said.
