MIPT Develops Algorithm to Improve Transformer Steel Production
The algorithm has already been tested on operating industrial production lines.

Researchers at the Higher School of Systems Engineering at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) have developed an algorithm to identify optimal production parameters for steel used in transformers. The algorithm can substantially improve the efficiency of steelmaking and rolling. The new method has already been implemented at an operating production facility.
The algorithm significantly outperforms traditional methods, which rely on manually selecting material compositions. Its key advantage is that it allows manufacturers to quickly adjust material parameters in response to changing market demand.
Practical trials have shown that using the algorithm can improve profit margins at existing sheet-rolling facilities while keeping production costs at their current level.
