Moscow Begins Production of Industrial-Grade Metal 3D Printers

The printers are designed for machine building, instrumentation, and the aerospace industry.

Moscow has launched production of next‑generation 3D printers that can create high‑density metal parts with extremely complex geometries. The new systems, developed by the Moscow Laser Technology Center, reinforce the country’s technological sovereignty and introduce cutting‑edge additive tools to key industrial sectors.

The equipment uses laser powder‑bed fusion, melting metal powder layer by layer to form parts with exceptional density. The machines support a wide range of metal alloys, and their configuration can be customized for specific industrial applications.

“Flexible tuning of the industrial complex allows us to meet the needs of virtually any production facility,” said Alexander Grigoryants, CEO of the developer and Doctor of Technical Sciences.

A Step Toward Technological Independence

The printers target industries such as machine building, instrumentation, and aerospace—fields where precision and part complexity are critical.

“The launch of serial production of this new 3D printer is another step toward our country’s technological independence,” said Anatoly Garbuzov, head of Moscow’s Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

The initiative is part of a broader strategy to expand Moscow’s high‑tech industrial sector. Earlier, the city's Technopolis Moscow special economic zone launched production of photonic integrated circuits. Together, these projects illustrate Russia’s transition toward next‑generation digital and additive manufacturing technologies, aimed at creating globally competitive products.
