The competition is part of the senior track for students in grades 8–11 and is supported by partners Gazprom Energoholding, MOEK and TsPPE. The 12th season of the Olympiad will begin in late August, and preliminary registration is now open.

The competition focuses on resource-efficient energy systems. Teams analyze the condition of urban heating networks, create digital twins of them, program diagnostic robots and develop AI algorithms to manage energy flows. Participants will have to respond to a simulated network emergency and adapt their designs to changing conditions, while also working with engineering software and equipment used by industry professionals.

The National Technology Olympiad has been held in Russia for 11 years and has brought together more than 1.1 million participants from every Russian region and 77 countries. More than 226,000 people applied last year. The competition has three tracks spanning more than 30 fields, from artificial intelligence to space technology.
