Rabota v Rossii: Mobile App Becomes a Full-Fledged Gateway to Public Employment Services

The mobile app for the Rabota v Rossii (Job in Russia) Unified Digital Platform has become even more user-friendly. BFT-Holding, the company that developed the service, has carried out a comprehensive upgrade and expanded its functionality.

Users can now access the full range of government support measures related to employment and labor relations through the Rabota v Rossii Unified Digital Platform. The mobile app now allows them to submit applications for five categories of support. Users will also receive notifications about developments related to their applications for government assistance. These include the results of career guidance assessments and notifications that a training agreement has been accepted or declined. The update adds 12 types of notifications for individuals and two for employers.

The vacancy and résumé forms have been updated, and an intuitive help system makes them easier to complete. The digital profile for job seekers has also been expanded. It brings together key information about each individual, making it faster to create a new résumé or update an existing one. Users can now also sign documents through the Goskey (State Key) service, eliminating the need to visit an employment office in person.

According to estimates by Rostrud (the Federal Service for Labour and Employment), the expanded mobile app is expected to double its user base. Currently, 40,000 job seekers access it every day.

A Focus on Personalization and Technological Sovereignty

The Rabota v Rossii platform is continually evolving. Updates reflect both new regulatory requirements and feedback from Rostrud, which regularly monitors demand for individual features. Personalization is becoming a major priority: users' digital profiles make it possible to match them with vacancies more accurately, taking into account their professional skills, preferences and willingness to learn new occupations.

At the same time, the platform itself is undergoing technical modernization. In May 2026, it was fully migrated to Russian-developed system software. Imported components, including the operating system, database management system and other elements, were replaced with Russian alternatives. This has given the platform greater technological independence while strengthening the resilience and security of its digital infrastructure.

The platform's further development is part of the national Kadry (Workforce) project. Priorities include expanding vocational training and retraining programs and encouraging domestic labor mobility to attract professionals to regions facing workforce shortages./

From a Vacancy Database to Mobile Ecosystems

Rostrud's digital services have been evolving continuously. The process began in 2018 with the launch of Rabota v Rossii, a nationwide job vacancy database. Its integration with the Gosuslugi (Public Services) portal began in 2019–2020.

In 2021, the vacancy database was formally established by law as the Unified Digital Platform for Employment and Labor Relations. The platform was redesigned and gained new capabilities, including electronic document management and a feature for finding temporary jobs for teenagers.

Major changes followed in 2023–2024. Artificial intelligence algorithms were introduced to automatically match job vacancies with résumés. The Rabota v Rossii mobile app was also launched.

The Real Value Lies in Benefits for People

The latest platform upgrade is about more than adding menu items and convenient features. It demonstrates how the Unified Digital Platform as a whole, and its mobile app in particular, have become a fully fledged channel through which job seekers, employers and the government can interact.

Looking ahead, the platform could evolve into a unified career support environment, bringing job searches, retraining and document processing together in one continuous process. Rabota v Rossii operates in a highly competitive environment, but it has a key advantage: integration with other government platforms and access to public support measures for both job seekers and employers.

Defining an individual's career path means accurately assessing their professional qualifications and skills and recommending a path that will make them more competitive in the labor market and increase their human capital. We will continue to develop this area of our employment service's work
