Rosatom Expands Fast-Charging Network for Electric Vehicles

Rosatom is rapidly growing its nationwide network of fast-charging stations, promising drivers a full charge in as little as 30 minutes.

Rosatom continues to expand its network of electric vehicle charging stations, which now numbers 222 across 15 regions of Russia. Two new stations were recently installed on central streets in Podolsk, just outside Moscow. The state corporation plans to increase the total to 270 stations in the near future and reach 53 regions by 2030.

Leveraging its scientific expertise along with digital and engineering capabilities, Rosatom is building advanced fast-charging stations with capacities starting at 60 kW. This technology slashes charging times from hours to just 30 minutes for a full battery recharge.

Rosatom is also investing in the broader electric vehicle industry, aiming to supply up to 60% of the components needed for EV production. This includes battery packs, electric motors, rare-earth magnets, microcomponents, and composite materials. Its power division is Russia’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, creating the conditions for environmentally safe and economically viable electric transport to develop quickly and independently of external factors.
