Rosatom Expands Quantum Tech Development in Russian Regions

A new partnership between Rosatom and Omsk Region aims to promote quantum research, workforce training, and tech deployment in industry and education.
Rosatom is ramping up its regional quantum technology efforts through a new agreement with the Omsk Region. The deal was signed at the INNOPROM-2025 International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg by Rosatom Quantum Technologies and the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Scientific-Technological Development of Omsk.
The initiative outlines joint research, educational outreach in schools and universities, and the deployment of cutting-edge quantum technologies at regional enterprises. A key goal is to popularize quantum science among young people and build a skilled workforce in this strategic sector.
Planned outreach efforts include a series of events like a special 'Quantum Lesson in Digital Literacy,' a 'Quantum Week,' and seminars for physics teachers. Local universities will join research programs, and industrial partners will be invited to test and adopt quantum solutions.
Projects will be implemented across leading scientific institutes, universities, and companies in the region. The partnership is a step forward in boosting Russia’s technological sovereignty and preparing a new generation of professionals for the quantum-powered economy of the future.
