Rosatom Receives Certificate for Russia's First Domestic Medical Cyclotron
Rosatom has received an ST-1 certificate for the SS-18/9 medical cyclotron manufactured by NIIEFA JSC. The device is expected to begin deliveries to hospitals soon.
Rosatom RDS said that receiving the ST-1 certificate confirms that the cyclotron is manufactured in Russia and has been entered into the register of Russian industrial products. The cyclotron is installed directly at a medical facility and is used to produce radiopharmaceuticals. According to the company, it is the only cyclotron manufactured on an industrial scale in Russia and included in the register.
Likhachev also said that PET/CT scanners developed by Rosatom will be licensed in stages in 2028–2029. He noted that the process is lengthy because it involves extensive medical testing and regulatory requirements.
