Rosneft Turns to AI-Powered Platform to Boost Oil Production
At a forum in Tyumen, Rosneft unveiled a digital platform that monitors wells in real time and has already increased production during testing.

Rosneft presented its proprietary digital solutions for oilfield management in Tyumen, part of a broader corporate strategy to transition fully to domestic software. The company reports that more than 80% of foreign IT products at its enterprises have already been replaced with Russian-made systems, underscoring the energy sector’s ability to rely on homegrown technology.
The flagship tool is RN-Predix, developed by Rosneft’s RN-Uvatneftegaz unit together with the Tyumen Research Institute. The platform collects and analyzes industrial data to optimize equipment performance. By creating a digital twin of the oilfield, it can assess the potential of each well and model how surrounding infrastructure affects output.
The platform also includes RN-Videoanalytics, a safety module that monitors compliance with workplace regulations in real time and automatically alerts supervisors to violations.
