Operator Rostelecom has begun pilot operation of a fiber-optic DWDM system from Russian company BULAT. The equipment is designed for building high-speed communication lines at both the national and international levels.
BULAT's development was created with the specifics of Russian telecom systems in mind. In particular, they are distinguished by very long spans. The new system is engineered to deliver maximum efficiency specifically under the country's geographic conditions and with the existing cable infrastructure.
