Rostelecom Brings High-Speed Fiber to Major Warehouse Hub in the Urals

A massive logistics complex in Yekaterinburg now runs on gigabit internet, with over 4 kilometers of fiber-optic cables laid to power its operations.

Russia’s Rostelecom has built out digital infrastructure for the “Yug” business complex in Yekaterinburg, the largest warehouse hub in the Urals. The facility now has uninterrupted internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbps, supported by more than 4 kilometers of fiber-optic lines. The project also included advanced cybersecurity measures and integration with regional digital services—critical for resident companies.

The complex is unique for the region, covering 20 hectares and housing more than 70 warehouses operated by leading Russian firms across sectors ranging from retail and construction materials to heavy equipment and pet supplies.

In addition to connectivity, tenants also gain access to virtual telephony, access control systems, video surveillance with analytics, smart displays, and other digital services.
