Russia Begins Mass Production of Robot Positioners

St. Petersburg’s Robowizard launches locally made components that strengthen the country’s industrial automation ecosystem.

In September 2025, St. Petersburg–based company Robowizard started mass production of positioners for industrial robots—an essential step in advancing Russia’s robotics industry.

Positioners are critical elements of any robotic complex. They allow heavy workpieces to be rotated and tilted with precision, ensuring accuracy in welding, painting, or assembly. Until recently, many of these devices had to be imported. Launching domestic production opens new technological opportunities for industrial automation.

The move cements St. Petersburg’s role as one of Russia’s robotics hubs. Establishing full-cycle serial production is not just a milestone for a single company but a systemic achievement. It demonstrates that Russian mechanical engineering is capable of producing complex, high-tech products with a high degree of localization. On a global scale, it helps boost the competitiveness of Russian goods by cutting costs and increasing production flexibility.

Robowizard has mastered the production of single-axis and dual-axis positioners capable of rotating and tilting parts weighing up to one ton. Their key advantage is complete integration into the robot’s control system, with synchronized movements that deliver maximum precision.

Alongside positioners, the company is developing linear motion modules that significantly expand a robot’s working area. The focus is on maximum localization, including proprietary software and domestically produced welding equipment.
