Russia Expands Digital Tech Funding to Accelerate Industrial Automation

The government will subsidize up to 90% of development costs for electronics and robotics, with new loans and grants aimed at boosting revenue and scaling innovation.

Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade is ramping up support for digital and industrial technologies, with a major focus on robotics and electronic engineering. According to «Kommersant», new subsidies will be made available for both developers and end users of industrial robots.

Starting in 2026, companies will be able to recover up to 70% of their R&D expenses. Developers working in the field of electronic mechanical engineering can claim reimbursements for up to 90% of their project costs. Annual subsidies are capped at 500 million rubles, but customers of innovative technologies can receive up to 2 billion rubles in funding over five years.

In parallel, Russia’s Industrial Development Fund is offering soft loans ranging from 20 million to 1 billion rubles at an interest rate of 5%—with the possibility of lowering that to just 1%.

To qualify, recipients must scale their revenue by 2 to 5 times the amount of financing received. These financial incentives are aimed at accelerating the country’s transition to advanced digital manufacturing and scaling high-tech production.
