Russia Eyes One-Click Utility Payments Through Government App

A new proposal would let Russians pay all their housing and utility bills in a single transaction via the 'Gosuslugi Dom' digital platform.
Russian lawmakers are proposing a unified system for paying housing and utility bills through the state-run 'Gosuslugi Dom' mobile app. According to TASS, Artyom Sheykin, Deputy Chair of the Council for Digital Economy Development under the Federation Council, said the update would make the app more user-friendly. One-click payments would save time and simplify the process of entering billing information.
Sheykin also suggested improving the app’s guest access function. This would be especially helpful for elderly users who often need assistance from relatives or social workers when using digital tools like Gosuslugi Dom.
Another key proposal is upgrading the app’s payment identification system to ensure more accurate tracking of transactions.
The lawmakers have submitted these recommendations to the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia. They also propose launching an awareness campaign and training sessions to help citizens better understand the app’s full capabilities.
