Russia Fast-Tracks Online Business Registration with Biometrics
Russians can now officially register a company in just four hours, thanks to a new mobile-first service that eliminates trips to the tax office.
Starting a business in Russia has become faster and easier. The government-backed service “Start Business Online” lets entrepreneurs launch a company using biometric authentication, cutting out in-person visits to tax authorities. On average, the process takes about four hours.
According to Vladislav Povolotsky, head of the Center for Biometric Technologies, the registration system has been fully integrated into a mobile app. Through it, users can obtain a digital signature, open accounts with banks and tax authorities, and manage all processes tied to electronic document workflow.
What’s already reality in Russia still sounds like a future scenario elsewhere. Recently, state-owned conglomerate Rostec rolled out a unified digital portal, texx.digital, bringing together all its IT products and services. Entrepreneurs can explore a catalog of import-independent solutions and connect directly with developers to discuss projects. Additional tools for startups and established companies are available through the Moscow Innovation Cluster’s digital platform, i.moscow.
