Russia Launches a Service to Track Towed Vehicles
Online platform helps drivers identify the reason and time of vehicle towing, as well as locate their car by license plate number.
Automation of the process
The Rostov region has launched an online service that helps drivers find their towed vehicles. According to regional transport minister Alena Belikova, the system replaces the previous method, when car owners had to contact the police and sometimes wait hours for updates. The automated online portal allows drivers to retrieve information immediately.
How the system works
“We actively worked on automating the system and updating the entire process. Now car owners can quickly determine the location of their vehicle using a specialized online service,” the minister explained.
The platform shows the reason and exact time of towing, along with the vehicle’s current location, identified by license plate number. Relevant data becomes available within 30 minutes after the tow is registered.
