Russia Launches AI-Based Remote Monitoring Program for Pregnant Women

A new mobile app helps expectant mothers stay connected with doctors and track fetal health from home.

Russia has launched a digital program that uses artificial intelligence to remotely monitor pregnancies and fetal development. Developed by a domestic company, the system includes a mobile app and AI-powered tools that allow expectant mothers to stay in contact with their doctors throughout pregnancy.

Patients regularly fill out digital questionnaires, which feed into an AI platform that generates a comprehensive view of both maternal and fetal health. Doctors can track these metrics in real time and provide remote consultations.

When needed, doctors may prescribe connected medical devices—such as a digital blood pressure monitor, glucometer, or cardiotocograph (used to measure the fetal heartbeat). These tools send data on blood glucose, systolic and diastolic pressure, and heart rate for both mother and baby to the 'Personal Medical Assistants' platform.

This system allows doctors to review patient data, offer timely guidance, and reduce the risk of complications. Ultimately, the program gives pregnant women greater confidence in managing their health and their baby’s well-being.
