Russia Launches AI-Powered Aging Scanner

In Nizhny Novgorod, the country’s first longevity medicine clinic has introduced a biological age calculator built on artificial intelligence.

A pilot project to prevent cognitive aging using new technologies has started in Nizhny Novgorod at Polyclinic No. 30. Initiated by the Institute of Clinical Medicine and the Institute of Biology of Aging at Lobachevsky University, the clinic is equipped with a diagnostic digital system called Atlas, a biological age calculator developed by university scientists. The neural network is trained on 150,000 anonymized Russian health profiles and analyzes 200 body parameters.

The AI assistant considers body composition, metabolism, and markers of immune and endocrine aging. It provides not only a biological age score but also a detailed digital map of aging factors for each patient, enabling doctors to design precise therapies.

In addition to the calculator, doctors will have access to other IT tools: systems for predicting age-related diseases based on epigenetic data and digital screening for dementia risks.

The introduction of digital instruments into clinical practice already allows doctors to design personalized programs to slow aging. In the long term, Russians’ active lifespan could increase by 5–7 years. This project marks Russia’s effort to build its own technologically independent health ecosystem.
