Russia Launches Cybersecurity Initiative to Protect National Postal Service

A new project will safeguard Russian Post’s logistics and data infrastructure by implementing one of the country’s largest cybersecurity systems.

Twenty leading cybersecurity organizations in Russia have joined forces to launch the country’s first cyber-resilient postal delivery network. Over the next three years, they will implement 66 interconnected projects designed to secure the complex infrastructure of Russian Post.

The cybersecurity measures will ensure uninterrupted operations at logistics centers, guaranteeing timely delivery of mail and parcels. The system will also protect against disruptions to social benefit payments and prevent the leakage of sensitive information including citizens' personal data. Crucially, it will shield the core components of Russian Post’s IT infrastructure from sabotage or failure.

Due to its scale, the initiative is divided into three main phases and 348 smaller stages. Each step is designed to eliminate specific strategic risks through the deployment of IT solutions.
