Russia Launches Nationwide Science Festival to Celebrate Scientific Legacy

The new 'Victory Vector' festival will highlight Russian scientific achievements and honor the legacy of scientists from the atomic and wartime eras.

Russia has announced a long-term public science campaign with the launch of the national 'Victory Vector' festival. The initiative is backed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

The festival will run for seven months across 10 regions, showcasing the accomplishments of Russian science through various public events. It will also tell the stories of prominent Russian and Soviet scientists, including wartime contributors and pioneers in the atomic sector.

The program includes competitions, intellectual games, and an online educational course designed for both children and adults. Participants will also have access to an interactive digital exhibition featuring influential scientists from Russia and the USSR.

Organizers expect the events to attract over 5.5 million participants.

The centerpiece of the campaign will be 'Vector Fest,' a science-focused public festival dedicated to the 80th anniversary of both the Soviet victory in World War II and the founding of Russia’s atomic industry.
