A Digital Shift for the Construction Sector
The state-owned institution DOM.RF has released the baseline version of Russia’s new sectoral data platform for construction. According to Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities Konstantin Mikhaylik, the platform serves as a transition to a 'digital language' for the industry, opening the door to broad adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.
Mikhaylik emphasized that the long‑term goal is for construction projects to generate clean, structured, and AI‑ready data from the outset. This will allow for more accurate decision‑making, improved resource allocation, and a substantial boost in efficiency and technological independence aligned with Russia’s national development goals.
Early Datasets Already Available
The platform already includes initial datasets covering multi‑unit residential construction, private homebuilding, and housing cooperatives. Users can access key analytical datasets that reflect the state of the construction sector and provide critical insights for developers, regulators, and researchers.
Nikolai Kozak, Managing Director for IT and Digital Transformation at DOM.RF, called the launch a major step toward forming a unified information environment for the construction industry. He highlighted that access to machine‑readable data opens new horizons for AI development, increasing transparency and speeding up construction processes.
Kozak noted that these datasets create a foundation for next‑generation intelligent services and AI agents capable of enhancing the quality and efficiency of housing construction for all stakeholders.
