Russia Moves Waste Collection Site Approvals Online
Residents and property managers can now digitally approve and register trash collection points through the national public services portal.

In Russia’s Vologda region, approvals for solid waste collection sites have officially gone digital. Homeowners’ associations, property managers, developers, and other organizations can now submit applications online through the country’s Unified Public Services Portal, eliminating the need for in-person visits or paper documentation.
According to Anastasia Ilyina, the region’s Minister of Digital Development, the new service marks “an important step toward a more comfortable and efficient urban environment.”
Streamlined and Transparent
Applications are processed within 20 calendar days, and once approved, the site information is added to the official waste management registry within ten business days.
Officials say the digital transition not only simplifies the process for businesses and housing organizations but also enhances transparency and accountability in how waste infrastructure is planned and maintained across the region.
