Russia Partners With Other Countries to Combat Cyber Fraud
Retail and IT companies remain the primary targets for hackers.
Russia is joining forces with other countries to strengthen its response to cyber fraud. The initiative involves integrating domestic anti-fraud centers with counterpart organizations abroad.
The announcement was made at the Ural Forum Kiberbezopasnost v Finansakh (Cybersecurity in Finance). Officials said the cooperation is expected to improve crime detection rates, as many attackers operate from outside the country.
Billions of Attempts Each Day
In 2025, up to 103 billion fraud attempts were recorded daily, according to Russian IT company Yandex. Most often, attackers sought to gain access to data, steal money, or damage IT infrastructure. Retail accounted for 34 percent of attacks, IT companies for 31 percent, and industry for 22 percent. In 30 percent of cases, attackers tried to steal data through phishing or key compromise.
Russia is also expanding its domestic monitoring and protection services. Yandex’s Security Information and Event Management platform collects and analyzes data from multiple IT infrastructures around the clock, alerting operators to suspicious activity.
